I am a Seattle based artist. A painter by daily habit but also working with; architecture, site specific installations, light as a medium and digital art. Though I am a prolific painter my work does not fit easily into a genre. The only thing that ties some of my pieces together is the fact that I created them. Staying inside a "theme" or genre would feel dishonest as I am intensely curious and exploratory which often leads me to find inspiration in very unexpected places. Sometimes I am inspired by landscapes, sometimes interior spaces, sometimes figures, sometimes dialogues, sometimes other artists and often from abstract objects. My abstract paintings are actually realistic paintings of abstract still life's that I have created out of various objects (architectural samples, natural materials, fibers, industrial materials, scientific laboratory equipment).
In short: I paint what I want.
